Barbara Slack Turns 100!

Registration for Summer 2026 will open between mid-November and early December | Find out more

The Weownit  cottage owned since 1905 by the Slack/Jenkins families before its turnover to Camp Billings is now the director’s cottage and available for rentals in the spring and fall. Many campers and staff no doubt recall Barbara and Alfred Slack at Billings camp functions or welcoming the many campers who visited them at their cottage and fished from the dock.

Barbara, the last of the former Weownit owners, will be 100 years of age on March 29. She currently resides at the Grafton County Home in NH.

I’m sure she would appreciate any cards of friendship honoring her significant event. For those in the area, Barbara’s niece from Canada is arranging a drop in event on Saturday, March 31, at the Grafton County Home. No set time is planned, just a late morning, early afternoon affair to visit and chat with Barb. Contact [email protected] for the address.
