TO OUR CAMP BILLINGS FAMILY

AN UPDATE ON THE Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Dear Camp Family,

For 113 summers Camp Billings has operated under the philosophy that the health and safety of our entire camp family, particularly our campers and staff, is the cornerstone of each and every summer. We create an environment that is healthy and safe for our children to learn, play and grow within a community that is both loving and accepting of all. This has been evidenced by the fact that there has never been a catastrophic illness or injury in our more than century of service to children and their families.

We have been closely monitoring the situation concerning the coronavirus (COVID-19) and following guidance from the World Health Organization (WHO), the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the American Camp Association (ACA). We are also in contact with alumni and friends in the medical and health fields. For the moment, as we process what is feasible and the right decision for everyone, we ask for your patience. If the circumstances dictate that it is in the best interest of our dear old camp to postpone this season, of course we will do so and provide everyone with a full refund, as well as the time for you to make other plans and mourn the loss of a summer at Billings. If camp remains open for the season, we will only do so if the Federal, State, and controlling agencies advise us that it is safe to do so and that we have the protective treatment plans in place to keep our entire camp family safe.

This will not be an easy decision; and one that may not have to be made by our Board as it may very well be mandated on a Federal or State level.  We assure you that we will not rush into this, but when the decision is made it will be the right one. Once a decision is made, for every family that has campers enrolled for the 2020 season we will directly contact you by email or phone.

We have all been witnessing how rapidly this situation has been changing, almost on a daily basis. Our promise is to provide you with updates as often as they come, so please monitor our website at campbillings.org,

If you would like to add your input or have any questions or concerns, please contact me directly, Michael Lemme, President of our Board of Directors by email via the contact form below or my cell at (973) 460-1055. I welcome each and every contact.

Your Fellow Alumni and President,

Michael
